World Youth Day (WYD) is known for its joy, prayer, and incredible sense of global community. Every few years, young people from every corner of the world gather to celebrate their faith — but WYD is more than an unforgettable pilgrimage. It’s also a place where future leaders are formed.

Taking Initiative and Leading With Confidence
Long before the first pilgrims arrive, countless young volunteers are already at work. They help with logistics, hospitality, music, media, and welcoming international guests. Others organize travel groups from their home countries, handle registrations, and guide fellow pilgrims through the journey.
